Service
Before we meet online, I will have read the background information you have provided for me and begun to think about your situation and needs.
During our 75-minute online consultation. I will listen carefully, ask some questions, and consider your situation further. Near the end of the consultation, I will give you a summary of my ideas about what is happening, why it is happening, and how to start changing it. I will provide personally tailored, immediate strategies for you to use. These will all be based on research and proven clinical experience. I will provide you with a written summary of suggested strategies in an email after the consultation.
I offer follow-up coaching sessions so you can check in, ask more questions, and further refine what you're doing.
Wise Owl Parent Psychology coaching can help you with
I can help you cut through the often confusing, sometimes contradictory advice in books, blogs and other information out there.
I can tailor my advice based on knowing the age and issue you are struggling with as a parent. This will reduce any overwhelm and provide you with a great starting point
I can help you to strengthen your relationship with your child, helping you to understand and connect with them. I can help you when you feel that you’re in a negative cycle with your child and want to turn that around.
I can bring clarity to your parenting vision and values and encourage you towards acting on this as much as possible. I’m able to give sound advice around having realistic expectations of your child, based on their age and stage of life.
I can help you to decide whether to intervene with a behaviour or situation, or whether to let it go
What I can not help with in my online consultation and short-term coaching
I cannot help with any problem that needs in-person help and/or longer-term help because of its severity or risk. For example, not: severe anxiety, severe depression, aggressive behaviour in older children or teens, self-harm behaviour, serious school refusal, severe health problems, ADHD or autism assessments, or separation issues that are in a crisis stage.
All of these need longer-term input from a clinician who can meet you in person to give you the extra support needed.
My promise to you after a Consultation:
You will become a wiser parent and you will feel more confident in developing a plan to solve your parenting issue. You will move closer to being the parent you want to be, which will improve your self-esteem and confidence. It is not easy to change patterns in children or ourselves. I will support you in a positive and hopeful manner to start this.
